Three Steps To Protecting Your Fragile Hair And Still Look Good On Vacation

If you are headed on vacation, you know how important it is to combine cute and comfortable. Bringing along easy-to-care-for maxi dresses, no-iron linen pants, stretch shirts, and comfortable shoes will take care of the majority of your wardrobe. Aside from your wardrobe, one thing that you will also have to worry about each day is your hair. If you are dealing with damaged hair, finding a way to style it on vacation is necessary. Here are some ways that you can have a cute hairstyle while still protecting your hair during a vacation.

Get a sew in weave

One of the best ways to be able to have cute hairstyle while keeping your hair protected is to get a sew in weave. A sew in weave will allow your hair to be braided down in cornrows flat to your scalp. A weft of hair can be sewn on top of the braids, which will look just like your natural hair. This will allow you to perform any type of hairstyle that you prefer while not having to manipulate your real hair.

Use a wavy hairstyle

If you select a hair type, such as a virgin Brazilian hair type, you can heat straighten the hair or you can wash the hair and wear it in a wavy fashion. If you will be swimming or going to the beach or pool while on vacation, you may have to wash your weave and hair underneath often. Hair that falls into a wave when it is washed and left to air dry will give you a pretty, casual style without needing to do anything extra. If you use heat styling, such as a blow dryer, the heat may reach your hair underneath. A wavy style that you secure with mousse or a hair gel will give you beachy waves without further styling.

Properly condition and oil your hair underneath

If your natural hair is dry and damaged, taking care of your hair underneath is necessary. At least twice a week, wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. This will take away any build-up from your weave and from the cornrows underneath. Make sure to properly massage your cornrows underneath with the shampoo. Once you have rinsed your hair, apply your deep conditioner to your weave and cornrows. After this is rinsed, apply a light oil to your cornrows and scalp to keep any moisture in your hair. All of this can be performed in the bathroom of a hotel room with a few products and space. After a few months, you will be able to take out the weave and reveal healthier and more moisturized natural hair.
